Four countries, one platform
Founded in Ljubljana, Avant Car today generates EUR 47 million in annual turnover (up from EUR 30 million in 2022), employs 150 people and operates a fleet of 3,800 vehicles at peak. The company runs its own technology platform, in-house R&D and proprietary operations IP — including 20 years of full-service leasing experience.
01 / How it started
One idea. Two founders. A new way of thinking about mobility.
In 1991, renting a car in this part of Europe meant a counter, a queue and a car nobody had checked. Avant Car started as a small independent alternative in Ljubljana: fewer cars, better cars, and someone accountable for each one. That idea became the foundation for a regional mobility company now running in four countries. The founders still shape how the company works.

Our services rest on three pillars, each with years of operational depth: full-service leasing (22 years), short-term car rental (23 years) and 100% electric car sharing (10 years). Every market — Slovenia since 2003, Croatia since 2014, North Macedonia since 2021 and Austria since 2023 — runs on the same fleet, workshop and service standard.

Avant Car is a regional pioneer in e-mobility: more than 1,200 electric vehicles across all programmes, 14 years of EV experience, over 40 million zero-emission kilometres driven and 500+ charging points installed. Our own R&D team and technology platform turn that operational experience into a market advantage we control end to end.
